About Watershed
Watershed is a carbon management platform that helps businesses measure, report, and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions across their own operations and their broader supply chain, aimed at companies that need credible climate data for regulatory disclosure, customer requirements, or their own sustainability commitments. Its measurement engine ingests data from a company's existing systems, like spend records, energy bills, and logistics data, and maps that activity to emissions factors to build a detailed carbon footprint without requiring a company to manually research emissions factors for every category of spend themselves. Because a large share of most companies' total emissions come from their supply chain rather than their own direct operations, Watershed places particular emphasis on supplier engagement tools that help a company collect actual emissions data from vendors rather than relying entirely on generic industry-average estimates. Reporting tools generate disclosures aligned with major climate reporting frameworks, which matters as more jurisdictions introduce mandatory climate disclosure requirements for companies of a certain size. Beyond measurement, Watershed helps companies build and track a reduction plan, and its marketplace connects companies to vetted carbon removal projects for the portion of emissions that can't yet be eliminated through operational changes. Watershed is used by sustainability and finance teams at growing companies that need investment-grade carbon data rather than a rough sustainability estimate for a marketing page.
