Sourcegraph is a code intelligence platform for large engineering organizations, centered on searching and understanding code across many repositories and languages from one place. Its search supports exact, regular expression, and structural queries at scale, and precise code navigation lets developers jump to definitions and find references across an entire codebase, including dependencies. On top of search, Sourcegraph provides Batch Changes for making and tracking the same edit across hundreds of repositories at once, Code Insights for dashboards that track migrations and code health over time, and a Model Context Protocol server that exposes codebase context to external AI agents. The company also offers Cody, an enterprise AI coding assistant that uses Sourcegraph's context for chat, autocomplete, and code understanding inside editors; as of mid-2025 Cody is available only to enterprise customers, and Sourcegraph's separate agentic coding product, Amp, was spun out into an independent company in late 2025. Sourcegraph is used by large technology companies and enterprises with sprawling codebases to accelerate onboarding, incident response, refactoring, and security remediation. It is sold as a paid enterprise platform, available as a managed service or self-hosted, with pricing based on the number of developers.
