Moov is a payments platform that lets software companies accept, store, send, and spend money through a single integration rather than assembling a processor, a ledger, and a payout provider separately. Moov is directly connected as a licensed processor to the card networks and to bank rails including the Federal Reserve and The Clearing House, which the company argues improves reliability and economics compared with layering on top of another processor. Developers use its API and prebuilt embeddable UI components, called Drops, to add card acceptance, pay-by-bank, digital wallets, instant payouts to debit cards and bank accounts, virtual cards, payment links, and invoicing to their product, with a built-in ledger tracking balances for the platform and its users. Moov also open-sourced a set of Go libraries implementing payment file formats and standards, which built its early developer following. It is aimed at vertical SaaS companies, marketplaces, and fintechs that want to embed payments and money movement and monetize the flow of funds. Moov is sold as a paid platform with usage-based pricing on transactions and payouts, plus interchange economics on cards, and custom terms for larger volumes. Moov also publishes SDKs in several languages and a dashboard for monitoring transfers, reconciliation, and program balances.
