Kagi is a search engine that users pay a subscription to use, on the premise that removing advertising as the business model produces better, more private results. It returns a clean results page with no ads or sponsored placements, pulls from its own crawler combined with several third-party indexes, and lets each user personalize results by raising, lowering, pinning, or blocking specific domains so, for example, content farms or sites with heavy ads can be pushed down permanently. Kagi does not track users, tie searches to a persistent profile, or sell data, and it includes features like a Universal Summarizer for pages and videos, an AI assistant that can use multiple models with search grounding, lens filters for scoping searches, and its own Orion web browser. Because there is no advertiser to serve, the incentive is to help a user find what they want and leave quickly. Kagi offers a limited number of free searches to try it, then paid individual plans starting at a low monthly price for a capped number of searches, an unlimited-search plan, and a higher tier that adds premium AI models, along with family and team plans.
