Beamable is a backend-as-a-service and live-operations platform built specifically for game developers, giving studios one system for the server-side features that live games need instead of building and operating them from scratch. It covers player identity and authentication, cloud save and player data, in-game economies and virtual currency, inventory, leaderboards, matchmaking, content and configuration delivery, live events and challenges, and analytics, and it exposes these through SDKs that plug directly into Unity and, increasingly, Unreal so developers can work in their existing engine. Beamable also provides a microservices framework so teams can write custom server logic alongside the standard features. The platform is designed to scale from a solo developer prototyping a game up to studios running large live titles, and the company offers an acceleration program that gives new studios credits to launch. Beamable has also been building toward decentralized and Web3-friendly backend infrastructure through an associated network, while keeping its standard Web2 offering. Nearly a hundred live games run on Beamable, spanning indie studios to larger publishers. It offers a free tier for small projects and paid plans that scale with active players and features, plus enterprise arrangements for larger titles.
