Webflow is a visual development platform that lets designers and marketers build production websites by working directly with the underlying web layout model, so what is drawn on the canvas maps to real HTML, CSS, and structured styles rather than a proprietary abstraction. It combines a visual designer with a content management system for dynamic collections like blog posts and case studies, an interactions and animation engine, e-commerce, forms, SEO controls, and managed hosting with a global content delivery network. This makes it popular with agencies and in-house teams building marketing sites that need pixel-level control and fast performance without a developer maintaining a custom front end. In 2025 and 2026 Webflow expanded aggressively into AI, adding an AI site builder that generates sites, AI tools for SEO and answer-engine optimization that flag missing metadata and schema, and App Gen, which turns a plain-language description into a full-stack application on Webflow Cloud with authentication and databases planned. Webflow powers hundreds of thousands of sites and has raised funding at a valuation around four billion dollars. It offers a free plan for building and staging, with paid site plans for publishing to a custom domain and workspace plans priced by seats and features.
