Vanta is a platform that automates the work of achieving and maintaining security compliance certifications such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and GDPR. It connects to a company's cloud infrastructure, identity provider, code repositories, HR system, and other tools, then continuously runs automated tests against the controls those frameworks require, for example checking that servers are encrypted, that access is removed when employees leave, and that code changes are reviewed. Instead of scrambling to gather evidence before an audit, teams see a live view of which controls are passing and failing, with guidance on how to fix gaps, and auditors can be given direct access to the collected evidence. Vanta also provides policy templates and tracking of employee acceptance, vendor risk management, security questionnaire automation, and a trust center for sharing security posture with customers. Since 2025 it has added AI agents that draft policies, map controls across frameworks, review evidence for gaps, and answer security questionnaires from a company's own evidence library. Vanta is widely used by startups and mid-market software companies that need certifications to sell to larger customers. It is sold as a paid annual subscription priced by company size and the number of frameworks.
