## About Splice

Splice is a platform for music producers best known for its enormous, subscription-based library of royalty-free samples, loops, one-shots, and presets that users can search, preview in the context of their project, and download individually using a credit system. Beyond sounds, Splice offers a rent-to-own program for software instruments and effects plugins, letting producers pay monthly toward owning premium tools, and a cloud service that backs up and version-controls projects across the major digital audio workstations so collaborators can share work in progress. Its search and discovery features include filters that match samples to a session by key and BPM and AI-assisted tools that suggest complementary sounds. Splice has become a standard part of many modern producers' workflows, particularly in hip-hop, electronic, and pop, and the licensing model means any sample downloaded can be used in released music without additional clearance. The company also runs Splice Skills tutorials and has a creator program where sound designers and artists contribute packs and earn royalties based on downloads. Splice offers a limited free tier and several paid subscription levels that differ in monthly sample credits and access to the plugin and creator tools, with plans for hobbyists through professional studios.
