ShipBob is a third-party logistics provider that combines a network of fulfillment centers with software so online brands can outsource storing, picking, packing, and shipping orders. A merchant connects their store from platforms like Shopify, Amazon, or a custom site, sends inventory to ShipBob's warehouses, and orders then flow in automatically and ship from the location closest to the customer. Its dashboard handles inventory management across locations, order tracking, returns, analytics on shipping costs and delivery times, and alerts for low stock, and an Inventory Placement Program uses data to decide how to distribute a brand's products across the network to cut shipping zones and transit time. ShipBob also supports business-to-business and retail distribution, kitting, custom packaging, and international fulfillment through centers in several countries, and it exposes an API for deeper integration. It is aimed at small and mid-sized direct-to-consumer brands that have outgrown shipping from a garage or a single warehouse but are not large enough to run their own distribution operation, and it added an enterprise service tier for larger merchants. ShipBob is paid, charging for storage by space used plus per-order fulfillment and shipping fees, with pricing that varies by volume and services.
