About Riverside.fm
Riverside.fm is a remote recording platform built specifically for podcasters and video creators who need studio-quality audio and video when recording with remote guests, solving the common problem where a standard video call platform compresses audio and video quality significantly for the sake of smooth real-time streaming, which is fine for a live conversation but produces noticeably worse quality than what's needed for a polished, published recording. Riverside records each participant's audio and video locally on their own device at full quality, then uploads those separate high-quality files after the call ends, rather than relying entirely on a live, compressed stream, which means even if someone's internet connection is unstable during the actual call, the final recorded output isn't degraded by that connection issue since it wasn't dependent on a stable live stream in the first place. Each participant's audio and video track is recorded and stored separately, giving editors much more flexibility in post-production, like adjusting one speaker's audio levels independently or cutting to a different camera angle, compared to working with a single combined recording where every participant's audio is already mixed together. Riverside also includes built-in editing tools, AI-generated show notes and clips, and live-streaming capability for creators who want to stream a conversation live while still capturing a separate high-quality recording for later editing and publishing. It's aimed at podcasters and video creators who regularly record remote interviews and conversations and care about final production quality.
