## About Normative

Normative is carbon accounting software that automates the calculation of a company's greenhouse gas emissions across its own operations and supply chain, aimed at businesses that need to start measuring their climate footprint without hiring a dedicated team of sustainability data analysts to do it manually. The platform connects to financial and operational data a company already has, such as accounting records and utility bills, and automatically calculates emissions using built-in emissions factor databases, which removes much of the specialized carbon accounting expertise that would otherwise be required to translate raw spend and activity data into an accurate emissions figure. Normative's methodology follows the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, the standard framework most corporate climate reporting is built around, which matters for companies that need their numbers to be credible to auditors, regulators, and increasingly demanding corporate customers running their own supply chain emissions programs. Its supply chain emissions tools help companies estimate and later refine Scope 3 emissions, typically the largest and hardest-to-measure category for most businesses, by starting with reasonable industry-average estimates and improving accuracy over time as better supplier-specific data becomes available. Normative is used by mid-market companies across industries that are facing new climate disclosure requirements from regulators or customer supply chain programs but don't have the internal expertise or headcount to build a carbon accounting function entirely from scratch.
