About Inventory Planner
Inventory Planner, by Sage, is a demand forecasting and inventory planning tool built for ecommerce brands, analyzing historical sales data to recommend exactly what to reorder, how much, and when, replacing the manual spreadsheet-based forecasting many growing ecommerce businesses rely on that often leads to either running out of popular products or tying up too much cash in slow-moving inventory. Its forecasting engine accounts for factors like seasonality, sales trends, and supplier lead times to generate purchase order recommendations automatically, which matters because manually forecasting demand across a large product catalog with many different seasonal and trend patterns is extremely difficult to do accurately without dedicated forecasting software. The platform integrates directly with major ecommerce platforms and marketplaces, pulling in real sales and inventory data automatically rather than requiring a merchant to manually export and reconcile sales reports from multiple channels before forecasting can even begin. Inventory Planner's reporting highlights which products are trending toward a stockout, which are overstocked and tying up working capital unnecessarily, and which suppliers have inconsistent lead times that should be factored into future reorder timing. Purchase orders can be generated directly from forecasting recommendations and sent straight to suppliers, streamlining the full loop from demand signal to actual reorder. The tool is aimed at growing ecommerce merchants who have outgrown manual, spreadsheet-based inventory planning but don't need a full enterprise supply chain planning system.
