## About Hemlane

Hemlane is property management software for landlords and small property managers that covers the full rental lifecycle and offers an unusual hybrid model, pairing self-service tools with optional access to local, licensed real estate agents. On the software side it handles marketing a vacancy to dozens of listing sites, tenant screening with credit and background checks, digital lease agreements and e-signature, online rent collection with automatic late fees, maintenance request tracking with a coordinator workflow, and an accounting suite for tracking income and expenses per property. Where it differs from pure software is that a landlord who does not want to handle showings or after-hours maintenance calls themselves can add a local leasing agent to conduct in-person showings, and around-the-clock maintenance coordination, effectively renting parts of a property management service without hiring a full-service manager who takes a large monthly cut. Hemlane has been operating since 2014 and supports tens of thousands of rental units across thousands of US cities, aimed at owners of a handful to a few dozen doors who are self-managing from a distance. It offers a free tier with a basic accounting and management feature set, and paid per-unit plans that add the full toolset and the agent and maintenance services.
