## About Graphite

Graphite is a code review platform built on top of GitHub around the practice of stacked pull requests, where a large change is split into a series of small, dependent PRs that can be reviewed and merged independently. Its command-line tool manages the stack, automatically rebasing downstream branches when an earlier one changes or merges, so a developer can keep working on later parts of a feature while earlier parts are still in review instead of waiting or maintaining one giant branch. A web app and inbox give reviewers a prioritized queue and a clearer view of stacked changes than GitHub's native interface. Graphite also provides a stack-aware merge queue that batches and tests multiple ready PRs together, and an AI reviewer, Graphite Agent, that comments on pull requests in real time to flag likely bugs, security issues, and style problems and suggest fixes. Companies that have adopted it report more PRs merged per developer, smaller PRs, and time saved per engineer each week. Graphite is aimed at teams that want to move to smaller, faster reviews without leaving GitHub. It is free for individuals and small teams, with paid per-seat plans that add the merge queue, AI review volume, analytics, and administration.
