## About GlitchTip

GlitchTip is an open-source error tracking and uptime monitoring platform built as a lightweight, self-hostable alternative to heavier commercial observability tools, giving engineering teams a place to catch, group, and triage exceptions from their applications without the resource footprint that running a full self-hosted Sentry instance typically requires. Because GlitchTip is compatible with Sentry's own SDKs, teams already instrumented with Sentry's client libraries across languages like JavaScript, Python, and Ruby can point that same SDK configuration at a GlitchTip endpoint instead, which makes migrating an existing codebase a matter of changing a connection string rather than re-instrumenting error reporting from scratch. Its dashboard groups related exceptions together, tracks how often a given error is recurring across releases, and lets teams assign, comment on, and resolve issues directly, giving a small team the core triage workflow of a dedicated error tracking product without paying for seats on a much larger commercial platform. GlitchTip also includes basic uptime monitoring, alerting the team when a service becomes unreachable, alongside its core error tracking.
