## About Black Forest Labs

Black Forest Labs is an AI research company founded in 2024 by researchers who previously created the original Stable Diffusion and other latent diffusion work, and it develops the FLUX family of image generation and editing models. Its releases have set quality benchmarks for open models: FLUX.1 established the line, and later FLUX.2 combined text-to-image generation and multi-image editing in a single model, shipped in several variants including a large open-weight version, a fast variant for real-time and on-device use, and a hosted professional variant, with the lab moving toward multimodal models that also handle video and audio.
