Altana operates an AI platform that builds a map of the global supply network, which it calls the value chain, by ingesting and connecting vast amounts of trade data, shipping records, corporate data, and other sources into a model of how companies, factories, and products around the world are linked. Customers use it to see their supply chain far beyond their direct suppliers, tracing components and materials back through multiple tiers to the original sources, which is normally opaque. On top of that map, Altana provides risk and compliance capabilities: identifying exposure to forced labor, sanctioned entities, tariffs and trade restrictions, or geographic concentration, screening suppliers, and generating the documentation needed to demonstrate due diligence to regulators and customs authorities. It is used by large enterprises managing complex sourcing as well as by government agencies for trade enforcement and economic security work. Altana emphasizes a federated approach that lets participants collaborate on shared supply chain intelligence without exposing their proprietary data. The company reached a valuation of around a billion dollars after a large funding round backed by technology and climate-focused investors. Altana is sold as a paid enterprise platform, priced by the scope of the network mapped and the modules a customer uses.
